Synopsis: Zaroff, the inventor of a new, effective weapon is found killed from ether after his life is saved by a surgeon. The surgeon is suspected but Zaroff's injured assistant implicates himself by murdering a poacher who stole the plans for the weapon. The surgeon's manservant confesses to killing Zaroff but the assistant's death leaves him in the clear.
